This richly decorated waistcoat comes from the personal wardrobe of Elton John, one of the defining figures of British popular music. Its significance lies not only in its association with the artist, but also in its connection with designer Kenneth D. King, who created numerous pieces for Elton John over many years. King has recalled that Elton owned more than 50 of his creations, including waistcoats, jackets, hats, jewellery and decorative objects, making their collaboration an important part of the musician\u2019s distinctive visual identity.<\/p>\n

The waistcoat retains the label \u201cKDK Kenneth King Design 196 010\u201d and is accompanied by an invoice from the Elton John AIDS Foundation for \u00a395, dated 30 November 1994. This documentary provenance substantially strengthens the historical and collectible character of the piece.<\/p>\n
