Mike Tyson – Signed Boxing Glove

Rarity and Collectible Value

This signed Everlast boxing glove is a collectible object associated with Mike Tyson, one of the most recognizable figures in the history of heavyweight boxing. The vivid red glove bears Tyson’s autograph prominently across its outer surface in contrasting metallic ink, while the black wrist section retains the distinctive Everlast branding. Its value as sports memorabilia lies in the direct connection between the signed object and an athlete whose career became one of the defining stories of professional boxing in the late twentieth century. The autograph is accompanied by Beckett authentication, providing independent verification of the signature and strengthening the provenance of the piece.

Origin and Historical Context

Mike Tyson rose to international prominence during the 1980s through an exceptional combination of speed, power and aggressive close-range boxing. On November 22, 1986, aged 20 years, 4 months and 22 days, he defeated Trevor Berbick to win the WBC heavyweight title, becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history — a record that still stands. He subsequently unified the WBC, WBA and IBF titles and became the undisputed heavyweight champion. Tyson was later inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and, reflecting his wider cultural impact beyond professional boxing, into the WWE Hall of Fame.

One of the most memorable demonstrations of Tyson’s early dominance occurred on July 26, 1986, at the Civic Center in Glens Falls, New York. Entering the bout undefeated at 24–0, Tyson faced Marvis Frazier, son of former heavyweight champion Joe Frazier. Tyson stopped Frazier only 30 seconds into the opening round, improving his professional record to 25–0. It remained the fastest knockout victory of Tyson’s professional career and was his fifteenth first-round knockout at that stage.

Object and Presentation

The glove is finished in bright red with a contrasting black wrist cuff and the vertical Everlast label characteristic of the brand’s boxing equipment. Tyson’s large autograph extends across the principal visible surface of the glove, creating a strong graphic focal point while leaving the recognizable form of the boxing glove unobstructed. A Beckett authentication label is visible near the Everlast branding, linking the physical object to its certification record.

With dimensions of 34 × 22 × 15 cm, the glove has a substantial sculptural presence when displayed individually. Presented on a stand, inside a display case or beneath glass, its saturated red surface, bold signature and immediately recognizable boxing form allow it to function as both sports memorabilia and a visually striking display object.

Human Touch

Unlike a photograph or printed representation, a signed boxing glove is directly connected to the physical language of the sport Tyson helped define. The object recalls the equipment worn in the ring, while the autograph transforms an otherwise functional piece of sporting equipment into an individual piece of memorabilia. Tyson’s career was built around an unusually explosive fighting style: compact movement, rapid combinations and exceptional knockout power made his performances immediately recognizable and helped establish his global reputation.

The signed glove therefore represents more than a celebrated athlete’s autograph. It evokes a specific period in heavyweight boxing when Tyson progressed from an undefeated young contender to world champion within a remarkably short period of time. Preserved with authenticated provenance, the object provides a tangible connection to the sporting and popular-cultural legacy of “Iron Mike” Tyson.
