The camp is surrounded by untouched wilderness, and all river travel and fishing are guided by Indigenous experts who know every lagoon, rapid, and secret spot where the biggest predators hide. The fishing camp sits in one of the wildest and most remote regions of Guyana, in the upper Essequibo River near the King William Rapids. Legend of the Amazon
Arapaima
This is one of the rarest and strongest freshwater predators on the planet, reaching more than 100–150 kg in weight. Guyana is the only country in the region where sport fishing for arapaima is officially permitted. For this reason, the upper Essequibo is considered one of the best places in the world to pursue this trophy.

A fight with an arapaima is a unique experience that requires strength, technique, and endurance. The fish rises to the surface, makes powerful runs toward the jungle, puts incredible pressure on the tackle, and can change the course of the fight in a matter of seconds. Each trophy becomes a story impossible to forget.

On this tour, you will find yourself in the very places where record-size specimens live, and you will have the chance to touch a dream available only to a small number of anglers on the planet.

and Exotic Predators

Giant Catfish

Guyana is a true museum of the rarest freshwater fish, many of which are found only in the Essequibo basin. Here live giant catfish — piraiba, jau, and redtail catfish — each capable of giving you an hours-long fight and becoming the trophy of a lifetime.

In addition to catfish, you will encounter bright and aggressive predators: the fanged payara, the powerful aimara, the arowana with its almost monkey-like behavior, and the giant black piranha, known for its strength and temperament. Each of these species is caught in its own way, making the fishing intense, diverse, and truly sporting.

This expedition will allow you to assemble a collection of trophies that cannot be matched in any other country in the world.

to the Upper Essequibo

Expedition

Your journey takes you deep into the wilderness of Guyana — one of the most remote countries in the world, visited by only a few. Reaching the destination may involve up to six flights, and the final stage leads through jungle and the rapids of the Essequibo before you arrive in the area of the King William Falls — a place hidden from civilization by dozens of kilometers of impassable nature.

The complete absence of fishing pressure makes this territory truly unique: the predators here are strong, active, and behave just as they would have thousands of years ago.

You will be accompanied by local Indigenous guides who know the river down to the smallest details and lead you along routes traveled only by the most well-prepared expeditions.

Each day here brings new trophies, cascades of rapids, the pristine sounds of the jungle, and the feeling of a real journey into the unknown. It is an experience on the level of National Geographic–style documentary expeditions, where every day becomes a story of its own.

Trophy Catch Collection
In a single trip, you can catch species that usually require visiting several different countries: giant catfish, arapaima, payara, aimara, pike, and other South American predators. It is an opportunity to gather trophies that cannot be found in Europe, Asia, or Africa — a rarity even among the most experienced anglers.
Guyana is the only country in the region where sport fishing for arapaima — one of the largest freshwater fish on the planet — is officially permitted. Its power, size, and behavior make every catch a true challenge. Encountering an arapaima is a unique experience available only to a select few anglers and only in such remote jungle regions.

Arapaima — Legend of the Jungle

The upper Essequibo is one of the few places in the world where you can catch truly giant freshwater predators. Here you can encounter record-size catfish, payara, aimara, and other rare species that experience almost no fishing pressure. Every time you go out on the water, there is a chance to meet a trophy anglers dream about for years.
