Rarity and Collectible Value
Crypto Money is a limited-edition sculpture from Taras Yoom’s Yoomoota Art Universe, produced in an edition of 50. The work belongs to the artist’s Wealth Collection and explores the transformation of money from a tangible physical object into an increasingly abstract digital system. Current documentation for the sculpture identifies it as a 2026 work and confirms the edition of 50.
Its collectible significance lies in the way it combines contemporary financial iconography with Yoomoota’s recognizable biomorphic and character-driven language. Rather than illustrating cryptocurrency literally, the sculpture turns a network of digital symbols, cables and artificial limbs into a hybrid creature. In this form, contemporary finance becomes something almost biological: unstable, interconnected and constantly moving.
Origin and Contemporary Context
The sculpture addresses one of the defining developments of twenty-first-century economics — the emergence of decentralized digital assets and blockchain-based financial systems. Symbols associated with major cryptocurrencies and blockchain ecosystems appear across the surface, including recognizable references to Bitcoin, Litecoin, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Shiba Inu and other digital currencies or networks.
The artist describes the work as an expansion of Yoomoota’s Wealth Collection into the crypto economy, where capital is increasingly immaterial and its value is shaped by code, market momentum and collective trust. This concept places the sculpture within a broader discussion about how society understands wealth when money can exist almost entirely as data.
Yoomoota itself is conceived as a parallel art universe in which psychological, social and biological phenomena are transformed into fictional characters and objects. The project’s official description presents its inhabitants as representations of the inner world of humanity, while Yoom defines his own approach as biomorphic surrealism.
Craftsmanship and Decoration
The 20 cm sculpture is built as a dense spherical mass supported by multiple elongated, humanoid legs. The upper body is composed of overlapping square panels, each displaying a different cryptocurrency or blockchain symbol. Their bright orange, blue, turquoise, red, yellow and violet surfaces contrast with pale structural frames and glossy white limbs.
One of the most distinctive visual features is the system of multicolored ribbon-like cables woven between the panels. These looping bands resemble both electrical wiring and circulatory systems, reinforcing the idea that digital finance functions through invisible flows of information.
The lower section introduces a playful anthropomorphic element. Several slender legs descend from the technological mass, fitted with joint-like mechanical details and brightly colored sneakers. This deliberate combination of machine, body and fashion is characteristic of the Yoomoota universe, where abstract phenomena are frequently given physical personalities.
The sculpture is made from plastic, metal and acrylic, materials suited to its polished, synthetic aesthetic. The photographed object is presented as a freestanding piece, emphasizing its sculptural character from every angle.
Human Touch
Taras Yoom’s background gives the work an additional conceptual dimension. Before focusing fully on art and design, he studied medicine, and his later practice has continued to draw on biology, anatomy and natural systems. His official biography describes his work as a fusion of artistic expression, design and biophysical thinking, with the Yoomoota universe functioning as a metaphorical exploration of the human body and mind.
That perspective is particularly visible in Crypto Money. The cables can be read as nerves or blood vessels, the external panels as organs or information nodes, and the multiple legs as a physical metaphor for constant movement and instability. The sculpture suggests that digital wealth, although intangible, still depends on human behavior — confidence, fear, speculation, ambition and collective belief.
The result is both playful and critical. Crypto Money transforms a highly technical subject into an approachable character, while asking a broader question about modern value: in a world where wealth can be represented by code rather than physical currency, what gives it substance? Within the Yoomoota universe, the answer is presented not as pure technology, but as a living system shaped by human psychology.
