The meteorite is 4-4.5 billion years old, i.e. 100-600 million years before life existed on our planet. The fascinating pattern of widmannstätten lines was formed as a result of cooling and crystallization of the iron-nickel matrix in space over millions of years. It belongs to the class of pallasites – the rarest species, they make up less than 6% of all detectable meteorites. having an iron-olivine alloy in their composition. The chemical composition is 80-90% iron, 9.15% nickel, and traces of iridium, gallium and germanium. There are only 38 known meteorites of this type in the world Found in Russia, where only 125 meteorites have been discovered in the last 250 years.
